Štramberk is an ideal destination for a one-day trip. A small historic town where everything is close by, yet you can enjoy a mix of landmarks, nature, and a pleasant atmosphere. If you’re visiting for the first time, it’s worth having a simple plan to make the most of your day.
Start your morning at Trúba
A perfect afternoon activity is a short loop combining nature and interesting spots nearby.
From the centre, you can join the Lašská educational trail, which leads you through the National Orchard. It is freely accessible and can be visited at any time. The route continues around the Kotouč limestone quarry and back towards Šipka Cave.
The trail is approximately 4 to 6 kilometres long. It is slightly hilly but manageable even without great fitness. Along the way, you’ll pass through forest sections, viewpoints, and quieter spots perfect for a short break.
If you’d like to extend the route, continue towards Libotín and connect to additional marked trails in the Podbeskydí Nature Park.

Visit Šipka Cave
After heading down, make your way to Šipka Cave, one of the most famous places in the area. It is freely accessible and doesn’t take long to visit.
This is where the jawbone of a Neanderthal was discovered, making it an interesting stop from a historical perspective. You can reach it on foot within a short walk.

End your day in the historic centre
Save the town centre for the end of your day. In the evening, it has a completely different atmosphere than during the day. The streets become quieter, there are fewer people, and the historic houses stand out even more. It’s the perfect time for a walk, dinner, or a relaxed sit-down.

Tip to finish your day
After a full day in Štramberk, a calm ending is just what you need. Take a walk through the centre and stop for dinner.
A great choice is our restaurant at Hotel Šipka, located right in the centre. Enjoy a delicious meal, relax in a pleasant setting, and end your day just the way it deserves. 🤎
